Service-oriented Enterprise Management is the way of management that reacts on modern trends in organization management. It is based on the principle of perceiving and managing an organization as a file of services. We talk about customer and manager oriented way of management, which needs the particular services to be described and put into context. Therefore it needs a  service catalogue

Service oriented management is not only about organizations providing services. Every organization needs to manage their service suppliers or a wide variety of supporting services. Service catalogue contains a unique relationship between the service catalogue and  the process map and activities of the organization. CorSet helps to realize the principles of organization description based on services (SOEA – Service Oriented Enterprise Architecture) and the principles of organization management based on services (SOME – Service Oriented Enterprise Management)

Service oriented management is related to three primary areas:

  • Management of services provided by the organization to its customers
  • Management of internal supporting services
  • Management of suppliers and outsourced services

Relationship between service management and other areas:

  • Strategic management of an organization – allows strategic performance indicators to be defined for every service
  • Process management – allows every process within an organization to be related to a concrete service
    Service management relates especially to all non-production organizations and consequently the whole sphere of public services as well as all other services provided on commercial basis (transport, communication services, ICT, financial services, insurance, trade, tourism, gas industry, energy industry, social and personal services etc.). The service sector is a dominant sector for obtaining GDP in developed countries (in the Czech Republic it is approximately 60% of GDP).
